Etymology

Haitian Creole "zèl" derives from French "aile" (wing), adapted phonetically in the Creole language spoken in Haiti. No direct biblical origin; in the Bible, "zèl" (Greek ζῆλος/zēlos) means zeal or ardor, from earlier conversation context.

In 2025, during one of the most challenging periods in my professional journey, I faced repeated hurdles securing a full time role within the advertising landscape. Rather than pause, I chose to transform the moment into an opportunity by founding Zel Curated, a luxury wellness and lifestyle brand built from the ground up. Drawing on years of experience in ecommerce, design, and digital marketing, I led every stage of development, from brand identity and creative direction to Shopify platform optimisation and campaign strategy.

The vision was clear: to create something visually distinctive in a crowded marketplace, while maintaining a look and feel that was short, memorable, and inherently premium.

Zel Curated quickly became both a creative outlet and a commercial venture aimed at growth and excellence. My focus centred on delivering a seamless online experience, establishing a luxury brand voice, and positioning the business to achieve £350k in revenue growth by year two. Through this project, I proved that ambition, adaptability, and a commitment to craftsmanship can turn uncertainty into innovation, reflecting how I approach both brand storytelling and entrepreneurial challenges.
