Create Not Hate
Quiet Storm
In the wake of the Death of George Floyd that triggered the wave of Black Life Matter marches around the world. I felt a personal duty to bring awareness to our own struggles within the UK.
While still studying at SCA 2.0, We had an idea to create work and hold an event over the August bank holiday weekend due to the significant historical relevance of black British community. We reached out to Trevor and Raina Robinson of Quiet Storm for advice and ended up restarting Create Not Hate.
Create Not Hate, an initiative to bring more young people from ethnic-minority backgrounds into the creative industries.
Carnival was cancelled this year (2020) due to Covid-19, this campaign aims to capture the street party’s spirit of protest, equality and fellowship. It was created by young people in London with the agency Quiet Storm, and inspired by their personal stories of racism and racial profiling.
